Tony Saggers is the Director of StraTac Logical and a consultant specialising in Threat, Risk and Harm strategies, illicit markets and expert evidence.
He completed 30 years of law enforcement and intelligence service in 2017, as the National Crime Agency (NCA) ‘Head of Threat and Intelligence for Drugs’. Prior to this he was ‘Head of Expert Evidence for Organised Crime’ with the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and has a background in investigations, intelligence, covert operations and court evidence.
Tony has worked in over 30 countries, across most sub-continents and represented the UK and his fields at many organised crime, UNODC, Europol and EMCDDA forums. He was the senior strategic lead during the fentanyl death outbreak in 2017, chair of the UK Drug Forensic Intelligence Group (DFIG) and author of the UK Illicit Drug Market report from 2006 to 2014.
He continues to work overseas with governments and national agencies and in the UK with a range of police, local authority and industry clients. He lectures on organised crime topics at universities and continues to write papers on European Drug Markets for the EMCDDA. Tony recently chaired and presented to an international Pharma Security conference; addressing the wider implications of illicit and counterfeit medicine.
